Arms are actually smooth
I've had chicken-skin arms my whole life. Within two weeks they felt softer and by week eight the bumps were much flatter. I use it right after the shower.
Keratosis pilaris (KP)
Keratosis pilaris (KP) causes small rough bumps where keratin plugs hair follicles, most often on the upper arms, thighs and buttocks. It is harmless and not contagious. KP has no permanent cure but can be controlled with exfoliating and retinoid creams. Vuret offers a Keratosis Pilaris Cream.
See a clinician if bumps are painful, spreading rapidly, or look infected.

Stung a bit the first time when I applied immediately after shaving my arms, so now I wait a few hours or apply on alternate days. Bumps are much flatter and less red.
I've tried the drugstore urea and lactic acid lotions. This combination works noticeably better for me. Now on the maintenance cream.
Texture improved dramatically within two weeks. Red dots take longer to fade than the bumps, but skin is noticeably softer to the touch. Process was easy.
Vuret describes softer skin in weeks 1–2, smaller and less red bumps in weeks 4–6, and smoother skin in weeks 8–12. Results vary.
Urea 20%, lactic acid 10%, salicylic acid 2% and tretinoin 0.025% in a 30 g prescription cream.
